ONLY 10 WEEKS left!
That is crazy. We have sooooo much to get still.
We have some diapers.
We have LOTS of clothes.
We have a changing table.
We have a temporary bed since we will be moving shortly after she is born. Also because she currently does not have a room. Which is why we are moving.
We have a few blankets.
We have a car seat.
We have............ yeah that is about it.
We are waiting to find out if the Husband will be leaving in a few weeks to go to school up until a few days before her due date.
I am kinda stressed!
I can not wait to meet this little girl that seems to kick ALL.THE.TIME.
I am also treasuring every bit of this pregnancy. I am so thankful that it is overall been an un-eventful pregnancy. It is has been a good pregnancy. It will also more than likely be my last and that is sad.

A Different Book
Marriage is hard.
Sometimes things are going great and everything is really wonderful.
Sometimes though you find yourself on very different pages of the story that is your marriage.
Then there are the really rough times when you are pretty darn sure you are in completely different books.
Father God, the other night you reminded me of a scripture I have been working to memorize. Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it? For I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
Help me Lord to see the new thing you are doing. As much as I want others to see in me the new you are doing within me.... I mostly want to stop holding others to their past and instead seeing the new in them.

God's Motto
Today Emily was doing her writing assignment. It had her writing a bible verse. Something from Luke- I THINK it was 2:10. I could go look but.... anyways,
As she was writing she looks up at me and says, I don't even have to read the next word. I KNOW God's motto already. Every time I see the word "FEAR" I KNOW the next word will be NOT.
Just think I am 8 and I already know God's motto!
" FEAR NOT"
Fear Not indeed, my sweet girl.

Love is....
...letting your wife sleep in on a Saturday morning.
... helping your wife clean the house on Valentine's Day so that it can be presentable for being sold.
... cleaning up the chocolate puke from your two year old while your wife gives him a bath.
... picking up Applebee's to go.
... surprising your wife with a gift even though she insisted she didn't want anything.
Love is the little things we do for each other ever day.

It's Potty Time
Little man has been showing signs of being ready to potty train for a while now. I just really haven't pushed the issue and kept hoping it would all just happen on it's own.
I had the best of intentions the past two weeks but I only lasted until the first accident in the training pants.
Tonight though he really did it all on his own!
After his bath tonight I had dried him off and was trying to get his diaper on when he let out the smelliest gas. He took the diaper off and went and put himself on the potty! He then ordered me OUT of the bathroom.
Seriously - he is such a man!
After several times of climbing on and off and on and off and on and off the potty he finally went pee pee and was soooo PROUD of himself.
We jumped around seeing the ever famous Pee pee in the potty song. Flushed and washed hands. He then would not stay off the toilet. I finally bribed him getting to call Nana if he would put his clothes back on.
So I now have hope that come June we will only have one little one in diapers! WOOHOO!!!

Milestones
Pregnancy is a wonderful thing. It is completely miraculous.
There comes a point though where you no longer count the time in weeks or even months but rather milestones.
I have currently moved past the everything I see, smell, taste, or touch makes me run to the bathroom to become one with the toilet.
I am still in the phase of raw meat is disgusting and chicken cut up into cubes is inedible though- just to make that clear.
I have entered into the every liquid that enters my body sends me running to the nearest bathroom moments later. This mostly happens at night when I should be sleeping.
Last night I hit a huge moment in my pregnancy.
I have been dreading this part quite honestly. See I sleep on my stomach. This bit of useless trivia only comes into play when another person is growing inside of said stomach.
I am now the proud owner of a brand new sleeping buddy.... my body pillow. I figured I might as well embrace this milestone though because it will last for the next 4 1/2 months.
The body pillow i chose is basic. The cover for it is so wonderful though. I am not really clear as to what animal pattern it is, picture what a cow print would look like if it was a chocolate milk cow instead of a regular milk cow. But it is velvety soft. I just want to rub it constantly.
I also found the cutest pink swing for baby girl. I didn't purchase it but I am definitely loving it. Then while in Target I found some sweet little outfits on the clearance rack. Summer clothes aren't out just yet but I have been able to find some sleepers and some larger size outfits for next fall.
My mom joked with me that the economic recession officially hit at the same time I stopped my shopping habit. My husband predicts the recession will slow down considerably once baby girl arrives.
It is so hard to resist all those sweet little clothes though. I mean they only let us dress them for such a short amount of time before they decide their style is jeans and a tee.

Baby Girl
This past Thursday I had another ultrasound and we were able to see what this little bean is!
IT'S A GIRL!!!!!
I can honestly say that I would have been just as thrilled with a little boy. Not too mention a little more decided on a name.
We have agreed on a middle name and are torn between two first names. I am leaning more towards one and the hubby is leaning more towards the other.
I am finally starting to feel her move. Which has been wonderful.
I am also into a great part of the pregnancy. I am mostly over the all day sickness and the extreme exhaustion.
We are planning on moving before little girl is born. Now let us pray that the landlord can find another renter so we can move before she makes her appearance.
Things are good. The kids and I are headed home for a little while to visit. We weren't able to go over the Holidays so we are going now. The hubby will be on a trip so it is a perfect opportunity before our homeschooling co-op starts back up.
OOOOH COOOL! Did a quick spell check and no miss spellings... I will probably miss spell something in this sentence then HA!
Nope I didn't!

It's his BIRTHDAY!!!
Happy Birthday Hubby!
You are officially 30! You are old. Yes, I realize you are younger than me and I am NOT old at 31 but you are officially old at 30!
Seriously though Happy Birthday BABE!
You refuse to give me any clue on what to get you. Since the budget is tight I have decided that the kids and I will be giving you a homemade cake (THANKS DUNCAN HINES)
A clean house. (pay NO attention to the laundry in the corner that you will probably be folding tomorrow when it is NOT your burthday)
We are also taking you out to dinner :) YUM!!! OH I HOPE YOU PICK MEXICAN! But I am willing to bet you pick Applebees and that you have the steak. Even though you don't even really like their steak but among many things you are a man of consistency.
I love you!

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl
Today my sweet girl turned 8. I can NOT believe that it has been 8 years since the doctors handed me such a precious baby girl.
Baby girl, you are the kindest thing. You are full of energy, creativity, and laughter. You have an incredible sense of humor and keep me and your dad laughing. You are determined and also incredibly independent.
You are an amazing big sister. Your brother absolutely adores you and you so obviously adore him as well.
You have such a love for Christ. I could not tell you how many times you have taught me a thing or two or three.
You love to learn as much as you can. I love getting the opportunity to teach to you. Seeing you learn something new just blesses me. You amaze me at the things you seek out to learn. Right now you are all about learning about planets and also the human body.
Baby girl, I love you so much. You make me want to be a better person and to daily strive to be a better mom.

Tartar sauce: a modern miracle
This Saturday we took Miss Thang to Seaworld for her birthday.
We had an absolutely fabulous time. Or in the words of Miss Thang... IT WAS WICKED FUN!
I left my camera at home and have no pictures of our fabulous time... BOOHOO!
The hubby took her on The Polar Express. His version... it was a ride. Her version... IT WAS WICKED FUN! Apparently after "riding" on the polar express, you exit at the North pole and can have your photo taken with Santa. According to DH it was THE SANTA.
While they spent their hour waiting in line and an additional five minutes on the ride, Little Man and I went to the play area. He spent the whole time playing in the sand pit. He LOVED it. Kids are just MEAN though. There was this little girl who was the tiniest little thing, but give her a handful of sand and she was a force to be reckoned with. I am all for talking to children and giving second chances. After about the FOURTH OR FIFTH chance though... take your kid out of the sand pit.
After, that I took Miss Thang on the Atlantis ride. Which I have to admit might be one of my most favorite amusement park ride ever. However, that drop was a bit farther and faster than I remembered from the other times we have been on that ride. About half way down the ride pregnant chick was thinking it *might* not have been the best thing I have ever done. All is good though.
Then we all went to the Shamu show. It was the night-time Christmas miracles show. About an hour before the show began as we were standing in line with the other 2 or 2,000 other people waiting to get it - I started thinking, it is a fish. It swims. It jumps. We awwwww. Do we really need to stand in this line and see it again. I am so glad we did.
The whale swam. The whale jumped. We all awwwwwed.
However the pre-show was what it was all about. The Shamu stadium is HUGE. Holds a few thousand people. Usually the pre-show is fun music, people dancing, a camera that goes around and stops on various people and shows them dancing up on the big screen. This show though they used the big screen to put the words up to Christmas songs. Ya'll - I cried! Seriously as we were all singing Jingle Bells in unison - I was overwhelmed by the spirit of the season.
The couple sitting a few people down from us got engaged during all the singing. So romantic.
At one point during the show a choir came out to sing.
The whole thing was just beautiful.
The funniest moment was during a segment on the big screen where they were showing children answering the question of What is a miracle?
Oh, there were the sweet answers of it is something big, it is something wonderful, it is my baby brother, my baby sister.
But no answer was more appropriate than TARTAR SAUCE. You know that white stuff you dip fish in :)

Siesta Ornament Exchange
This year at the Siesta Blog we had an ornament exchange. How much fun! My Siesta was Deborah over at Twinkle .
I loved exchanging emails with her and getting the chance to know one another. I think that was the best part of this exchange, yes even more than the shopping :)
We do not receive many packages here so when her package arrived it was a big day in this house. Deborah was so kind and thoughtful in what she sent and I am seriously in AWE of her ability to craft.
She sent a beautiful handmade pillow. A candle that she decorated. The candle also happens to be my most favorite scent! The ornament was perfect and precious... Mary holding baby Jesus. She even sent coloring books for my two kiddos. That was a huge hit since they both love to color.

Seriously I LOVE this pillow and found the perfect spot for it in my house on my bakers rack.

The decorated candle that also smells FAB!

The main star of the show.... the Mary and Jesus ornament, that is proudly hanging on our Christmas tree now.

A picture Emily colored from one of the coloring books.

This exchange was so much fun. I loved checking out all the blogs and seeing how everyone got to know one another just a little better.
Thanks Deborah! You are a huge blessing.
Merry Christmas.

*ETA* AGH! I can't beleive I forgot to include it in the photo but she also sent a CD of Christmas music that she made. We have listened to it MANY MANY times already...which is probably why I forgot to include it in the photo.

Baby makes 5
Meet Little Bean:

Today was appointment day!
They wanted to do another ultrasound for the first trimester screening. I really didn't wanting the screening done but I did want another ultrasound. Turns out I am farther along like I thought I was. This meant though that the window of time for them to do the screening had passed.
It is only by a week but in pregnancy time cutting off a week at the end is like turning 9 months into, well much less.
My due date is officially June 8th. Which also makes me happy because that is one less week in the summer time to be pregnant.
I go back in four weeks. Will have another ultrasound where they will do a second trimester screening and I will get to see this little bean again. I also get to do the lovely 1 hour glucose test. Praise God that it is after Christmas so I can enjoy the holiday foods. I am pretty sure I am going to FAIL the glucose test.
Little bean had a strong heart beat of 158.

Perfect Saturday
*Okay so they lost. I was bummed. They played a great game though and had a FANTASTIC season. Besides being an Alabama fan, I am also a fan for whoever happens to be playing either of the Florida teams. I don't think Florida should get to go to the National game but since they are... I will be cheering on whoever they play against.
Sleeping in while the hubby gets up with the kids.
Living in Florida and having a perfect 72 degree day, so I cranked on the A/C to put a slight chill to this December day.
Putting some vegetable soup in the crockpot.
Eating said vegetable soup while watching Alabama play Florida for the SEC Championship.
When Alabama wins they will get to play for the National Championship. YES they will!!
ROLL TIDE!!!!

Oh, McDonalds bag - you have failed me
Today was a great day. A really. great. day. Right up until we got home from running from one end of the county to the other end of the county for speech, gymnastics, and errands.
I pulled into the driveway desperately in need of a bathroom and glad the day was ending. As I was packing stuff up to bring into the house, I saw that I had forgotten to return the movies that were due back today. So I run into the house, use the bathroom, go through the pantry and think - I should really bring some crackers with us. I am feeling some serious pregnancy sickness coming on. I decide against the crackers.
That was a STUPID choice.
I head back out of the subdivision and into everyone is trying to get home traffic. Great!
Half way to the video store I realize how stupid of a choice it was to not grab the crackers. On top of that there is only one bag in the van. A paper McDonald's bag. The paper part of the bag doesn't really play a part in this story for about another five minutes though.
I am driving down a busy main road with nowhere to pull over and the pregnancy sickness hits - it is bad. Finally a red light. I am sorry people in the car next to me. Really I am!
Whooo! That is over with. RIIIIGGGHHHT!
Get to the video store and I THEN decide to check the movies and game to make sure they were in fact in their cases. Why I didn't do this at home? No clue. Should have because one movie was not in their case. I send Ms. Thang to the drop box with them anyways and just hope it all works out and I will bring the disk back tomorrow.
Start heading home back into what has now become everyone and their great-uncle is driving on this one road trying to get home.
I start to feel really, really ill. UGH - red light. Really long red light. I am okay though because the van is stopped and I have a bag. We are so close to being home.
Ya'll the bag BROKE. B.R.O.K.E. I cried and a cry while getting sick is just not good. I finally find a little fruit stand to pull over into I open the van door and everyone and their great-uncle got to witness my pregnancy illness in all its glory.
Got home fed the kids, changed clothes, put the kids to bed. Video store called - they want their disk tonight or it's late. So after all that the stinking movie is going to be late anyways.
Now to go clean out the van. JOY!

What a wonderful Saturday!
The hubby got up with the kids and let me sleep in. In between Ms. Thang coming in and out of my room asking when I was going to get up, I slept great!
Today, was mother daughter day with me and Ms. Thang. It started out being that I was going to take her to the movies but then it became an entire afternoon.
First we headed to Lifeway store since they were having a sale! I picked up the book The Shack . I have been wanting to read it for a while. I had to chuckle though, because the lady who rang me up kept asking and making sure I understood that the book was FICTION and not factual theology. I assured her I understood that. When I got home I realized there was a notice she had stuck in the book. It was a discernment guide.
I also picked up the Vicki Courtney book, 5 Conversations you must have with your daughter.
Picked up the Travis Cottrell Ring the Bells, Christmas CD. OH MY WORD! It is as fabulous as everyone has said. We listened to it all afternoon in between stops.
My favorite thing I shopped for today was an ornament for my Siesta Buddy. I can't wait to add some goodies to it and send it to her.
After shopping in Lifeway we headed to the mall so Ms. Thang could get her hair cut. She had something very specific in mind and she took her Polly Pocket doll so the lady could get it "just right". The hair turned out super cute and she LOVED it.
Dinner was good cheap Mexican food. I had the chicken enchilada's with sour cream sauce. With a side of Mexican rice, spicy black beans and half a fly. Needless to say I got a second plate brought out. Ms. Thang does not share my love of Mexican food. She really stepped out of her comfort zone though and had a cheese quesadilla, Mexican rice, and refried beans. No fly.
Our afternoon ended at Target, where we grabbed a drink from Starbucks and a pillow for Little Man. He is moving out of his crib tomorrow and into his big boy toddler bed. I am excited and sad all at the same time about how much he is growing up.
We came home and picked up the guys and headed to the drive-in. They were showing Madagascar 2. Great movie. Too funny. It was for sure.... Crack-a-lackin'.
Tomorrow, we are cleaning up the house and getting it ready for the holidays. Doesn't sound nearly as fun as today was.

Happy, Happy, Happy
My little man has been slow to talk. He started speech therapy in June and since then has just blossomed into a talking machine. He has REALLY been jabbering the past few weeks.
It started when we returned from our Ohio trip. While there he picked up a FABULOUS word from one of his sweet little cousins (I sincerely mean that!!! She is the cutest freaking thing EVER!!!)
He would run around the house yelling... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! It was actually cute. He wasn't telling anyone No, he just liking saying the word.
Since then though he has been practicing so many words.
No. Mine. Noooo. MIIIIIIINE. Ball. Go. Juice. Milk. Emy. Step, step, step (all the way down our stairs and then JUMP! Baby. Bye-Bye. Shoe. Up. Yuck-o. Pee-pee. No. Mine. Nooooo. Miiiiiine. Dog. Kitty. Frog. Fish. Duck. Bus. Car. Boat. Chug-Chug Train.
Yesterday, though he found a new favorite word that he says ALL. DAY. LONG.
Happy.
He just walks around the house playing with his toys, jumping, running, spinning, and skipping, singing....
HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!

7weeks 5 days
Due June 16, 2009.
I had my first OB appt today. Saw the little bean on the ultrasound machine. All looked good.
I am still in shock over all of it though. I am happy and feel immensley blessed but at the same time... We are going to be outnumbered by kids!
That terrifies me!

October 17, 2008. A Friday.
Oma passed away today. She was an amazing woman. She has to be the strongest woman I have ever met.
She loved her family. They were everything to her. She was everything to them.
I met her for the first time a little over 8 years ago when The Hubby had taken me home to meet his family. We were already married and announced that we were expecting our first child.
For the record we got married first.
I will never forget that meeting. The home-made sausage. The bona soup. The potatoes. The sweet cookies they kept feeding us. The all-freaking-day sickness and hormones brought on by pregnancy.
During our conversation she asked me where my family came from. I had no clue what she meant. So I answered with what any other person would have said... We were Southern?.?. from Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. They laughed and laughed.
They came here from Germany. With two little boys and 7 months pregnant with their third child.
They knew no English. Their only family was Oma's Mother and Sister.
They knew that America was a place to provide opportunity for their family. You had to want it though. You had to seek it out. You had to work for it. Nothing is handed to you.
When they were children, after WWII, Russia went into their countries and put them and so many thousands of others into Concentration Camps. Oma survived with her Mother and her sister. She lost brothers and sisters and a father and aunts and uncles. If you ever went to Oma's home, even today, a calendar hangs with every one of those family members birthdays written in the calendar squares.
We lost more than a grandmother today. We lost a woman who gave strength to her family. A woman who taught three sons the meaning of hard work, determination, and the meaning of family. Those sons passed the lessons onto their children.
I have the incredible honor of being married to one of those grandchildren. Daily, I see him teach our children the importance of kindness, of loving one another. The importance of your family.
Daily I see her in him. She has left an amazing legacy.
I look at my two beautiful children and I can't help but to see Oma and Opa in them. To look into little Emily's and Thomas' eyes and see their history. And I see their future.
Oma taught me how worthwhile it is to know where you come from so that you know how amazing it is to be where you are.
She is going to be dearly missed. I know these last months she has been in agonizing pain. These last days her body just couldn't work hard enough to beat her heart. She had lived a long, hard life and God finally called her home and took away her pain. She is with her Jesus. She is with that family she remembered every year after year.
Father God, in the days ahead as the family gathers, be with us. As we celebrate the life of Oma, be with us. As we mourn our loss, be with us. Give us comfort and peace that only you can provide.
Amen.
